I can't understand how they can try Mr.Ersland for murder if he had a legal right to fire the first shot and if the first shot killed the young man and then he fired five more shot into his body, how can you murder a dead man?

could be wrong... but how often have you heard of a Judge being investigated to the point of being wired? What crime was the Judge suspected of committing to justify this type investigation?

this smells of intimidation/entrapment of the judge by the prosecutor, who is going all out to get publicity from the Ersland trial.

pharmacist appearing to be a liar and loudmouth doesn't change the fact that two armed thugs came into his store to rob him.

watch the armed robbery video carefully...only 36 seconds elapses from time of first shot to head of first thug to pharmacist firing second five shots. don't know about you, but in the heat of getting almost shot by armed thugs. some mistakes are going to be made. the pharmacist didn't ask to be robbed by armed thugs.

Prosecutors have Too much POWER!!!
they have the ability to destroy lives, even if defendant wins... legal costs will bankrupt a lifetime of work.

Prosecutors don't need to be popular. What they do need is high profile cases for the publicity.

there is NO way I'd vote for Prater!

do we see any similarities with prosecutor of Duke Lacrosse team rape case?
----

RALEIGH, North Carolina (CNN) -- The prosecutor in the Duke University lacrosse team rape case was disbarred Saturday for unethical conduct, and the chairman of the disciplinary committee blamed "political ambition" for his downfall.

NAACP accuses DA's office of racism

I'm not sure I agree with the DA, but I've not seen anything that would indicate racism. I'm thinking it's more to do with the Ersland trial than anything else. It never fails to amaze me how easily/quickly the NAACP cries "Racism" when race has absolutely nothing to do with it.

So, how long before Al or Jesse get involved? I haven't seen either's name in any headlines lately, surely they're looking for some exposure?

This whole thing is just screwy. I have a feeling he is going to get off, but im not sure its going to be because he is innocent.

I am with you ...

It's beginning to sound like a few OKC legal types slept through ethics in law school. :(

Not just a few ... Anyone in the legal community can tell you the dear judge has "issues" ... but then again so did Bob Macy and Wes Lane and any number of other high profile and not so high profile legal eagles around here ... And I suspect it is not just around OKC that these ethical issues abound ... It is unfortunate but our legal system is not really geared toward proving guilt or innocence ... it is all about winning ...

It is only unethical if you get caught.
