Thanks for the good thoughts guys.
Today is 284 days past when I was initially going to call it a career,,,
But when the Covid thing sprang up I decided to keep my paycheck and good health insurance for a bit longer.
Besides, that was almost a full year more of banking my Social Security checks,,,
That provided a very welcome boost to the old savings account.
When I came back home to Oklahoma in 1996,,,
I had a minimum wage job waiting, a paid for beater of a pick-up truck, 2 clean credit cards, and no debt whatsoever.
After a year that minimum wage job had grown substantially,,,
But I woke up one morning thinking:
"You're doing okay now Aarond, but you're 46 and have no real future.
You need a career that will give you some security in your old age"
So I enrolled at OK State,,,
Got a student worker job there,,,
Got my BS and my teaching credentials,,,
I had originally planned to be a Career Tech Teacher.
But the university offered me a position as a Graduate Assistant which would finance a Master's degree,,,
Then I was able to parlay that Graduate Assistant position into a full-time job that resulted in where I am now.
My friends, I swear that the Fairy Godmother Department was looking out for me,,,
She put opportunities in front of me that I never dreamed could happen,,,
I'm absolutely giddy that this goal is about to be achieved.
Thanks for letting me prattle on about this,,,
I'm just so happy I can't see straight.

How old must I be to collect SS if born in 69?
Nope, I just call it like it is.
I wwas refeeing to the age at which I can first draw a lesser amount. I aint waiting till 67.This is copied form the Social Security website:
Full retirement age is the age when you will be able to collect your full retirement benefit amount. The full retirement age is 66 if you were born from 1943 to 1954. The full retirement age increases gradually if you were born from 1955 to 1960, until it reaches 67. For anyone born 1960 or later, full retirement benefits are payable at age 67.
