Just picked up a Norinco 1911 today

So I opted to go cheap and refinish it myself. I used Brownells Alumahyde II, OD for the frame, Semi-Gloss black for the slide, safety, slide-stop, trigger, hammer.

I think if I were to do it over again I'd go with matte black instead of Semi-Gloss. I didn't think it would be quite this glossy, but all in all I'm pretty pleased with it.

Why hate to say it? They're good guns, no shame in admitting it. Is it the Chinese thing?

Before Bill Wilson had his own frames and slides the Norinco was 1 of only 3 pistols he would work his magic on. So must be a great gun.
