"If you look at the values and the historical record, you will see that the Founding Fathers never intended guns to go unregulated, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer contended Sunday.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," Breyer said history stands with the dissenters in the court's decision to overturn a Washington, D.C., handgun ban in the 2008

Therefore, Madison included the Second Amendment to appease the states, Breyer said."

I just watched that. Ouch!

The man has no regard for the law. To him the constitution is just a set of values. If you just give a nod and a wink on agreeing with the values in it you can do whatever you wish, without regard to what it says. He sees no constraints on the power of the government to do anything.

Actually, the second amendment only applied to the federal government. Throughout history many municipalties restricted possession of firearms on the person. So, in a manner of speaking he is right.
