I'm wondering why the Russians decided to use the US Picatinny Arsenal standard rail....unless that's someone using the term generically there on the blog entry.
Cool looking, though the "gotta have a rail anywhere one will fit" thing is wearing thin. This one is tastefully railed, but I'm sure it'll be covered with them by the time the U.S. aftermarket is done with it. Now if some mouth breather will just figure out a way to stick an M4 style stock on it, then it will be properly tacticooled.
FWIW, it does resemble the Vz58 - which is one of my favorites. Though this looks like a very good rifle, I'll stick with the Vz58.

And it would be a wise decision. The AK is a neat gun, but the AR is clearly superior. If the S ever Hs the F I'm grabbing the Colt not the Krink.
