If I had to pick between the two, which I wouldn't, I would got Kel-Tec just because of the size. I would not carry either one of them, and in the price range the Makarov is probably a better choice, but I'm not going to carry that either. I was unable to post in that thread because I did not have a good choice for him. A more reasonable budget factoring a decent weapon, holsters, magazines, practice ammo, carry ammo, ETC is more like $750, but that may be out of range.

i agree with the op though. home defense 12 gauge. there is nothing more nasty than a 12 gauge close range. but he wanted a pistol.
cheap pistol cant really go wrong with a hi point. honestly i feel everyone is different. thats why they have tons of guns. i talked to somone at walmart while buying some shells for my shotgun and he suggested getting a ar-15 for home defense. lol. really?
