To answer the OP's question about the pistol. What if Oswald being a gun guy, shows up to work and see's a rifle that looks just like his rifle in his work space. It seems strange, what with the presidential motorcade that day and all. Then all hell breaks loose in the street below, Oswald takes off to go see if his rifle is at home and it is gone so he grabs his pistol and heads out to find a place to hide.
That's a complicated tale. It seems Fidel Castro was upset enough by JFK's relationship with MM that he spoke to Francisco Franco about having her "removed". FF, in turn, talked to his buddy Martin Bormann, chief of Odessa, and number one hatchet man for the Illluminati, who owed FF a few favors for the latter's help in gettting the former out of Nazi Germany. Meanwhile, Mao, who had a terrible crush on MM, was hatching a plot to kidnap her with the help of the Council on Foriegn Relations, who hated her because they were afraid her "pillow talk" might compromise national security, and the Rothschilds, who were in on the plot just because, well, they're in on every plot! Some will say that Mao's kidnap plot simply got out of hand. Then there was the Learned Elders, who wanted to off her simply because they thought they could, or maybe should, and Uncle Ho, who hated her movies anyway, even if he didn't understand them. It has been rumored that Ho had her killed in revenge for the sellout the Chinese engineered against him at the 1954 Geneva Peace Accords, but no one really remembers much about 1954 as it is. One or the other or all of these people had a hand in her murder--or maybe they didn't--but they're not saying one way or the other. I told you it was complicated....
