I found a Kimber 45 acp for a friend and that had an issue with chambering ammo all the way in.
Thin wall cases did fine sort of.

I took a loaded case and colored the entire case and bullet with a black sharpie and inserted it into the chamber.
I got witness marks where the chamber was binding on the case.

Just so happens the chamber was dented in slightly!!!

Not surprising as above that tight spot was where Kimber stamped 45 ACP into the barrel.
Yes stamped and dented the chamber.

I think it was 45 ACP stamped there.
I honed and polished it out and it feeds excellent now.

That ranks up there with Ruger and their junk I have had.
I sure do not like Ruger. But many have them and love them.
3 For me and all were not accurate.
Even a new in the box 10-22 so many people praise.
Not accurate and not reliable.
A model 60 will run circles around that Ruger.

But people love those also.

I have a Kimber 1911 in .45 I'll put up against any 1911 for reliability. I do understand when Kimber went full retail that they had some QC issues that I read about, but none of the folks I know have them have experienced any.
Mine was built when they were still hand fitting each pistol early in their manufacturing business so maybe that's why.

Did anyone else read the part that said Busse helped build Kimber when he SERVED as VP? As in he no longer is VP. A quick google says the current VP is a different name than Busse. I’ve got no problems with my Kimbers. So I’m not trashing Kimber since I haven’t experienced any issues and I damn sure ain’t trashin em based on a thread with a misleading title based on an article written by/about a fella who isn’t their VP. Daggum fake news

Wait.... so we have to put up the pitchforks and torches?

Ryan Busse was a former VP of Kimber and is selling his resume and time at Kimber to try to add credibility to his op-ed.

Busse claims to be pro-gun but he is only pro-gun for certain types of guns such as the “BBQ” and “disco” guns in the Kimber portfolio.

Ryan Busse is ALSO on the board for Sportsman for Biden.
