Went out today and caught a couple small crappie and 3 sand bass. Two sand bass were right around 10”. Probably could have kept them but just kept the biggest, which was around 14”. Storms forced me in earlier than I wanted to.
What were you using for bait? Ever target blue catfish?Went out today and caught a couple small crappie and 3 sand bass. Two sand bass were right around 10”. Probably could have kept them but just kept the biggest, which was around 14”. Storms forced me in earlier than I wanted to.
Generally it is. I haven't been to that area of Lake Thunderbird. In that satellite image, it looks like some other sort of low water dam closer to the highway. Where behind the dam will vary with the difference of water being let out. When higher flow, it will likely not be the same spot you would fish when low flow. During times of low flow it is good to mentally mark (or use mark on satellite image) where different structures are such as holes or big rock that is where fish will be during high flow.Is the highlighted area what the fishing report is mentioning when it says “below the dam”?
Yes. It’s just based on what people say and also any report from a warden that checked fish. They find out where and how people were fishing. There isn’t a lot of fishing data anymore. That’s a business opportunity for someone. On that note, where does the wildlife department get their fishing report data? Are game wardens going around asking random people how the fishing is, then submitting that? Lol
