Last Meal

The topic at work today is The Last Meal since Texas is doing away with special last meal requests. Made us think of what we might request.

Me:

Porterhouse Steak, medium rare
Burnt End Sandwich from Gates in KC
Loaded Baked Potato
Baked Beans from Smokehouse in KC
Yeast Rolls with real Butter
Chocolate Bag from McCormick & Schmicks
Pitcher of Unsweet Tea

A big hand battered country fried steak
fried tators
gravy
beans
hot homemade cherry pie with ice cream on top.
6 pack of ice cold beer.

Some of the things I would request:

Two dinosaur eggs over easy, fried in butter but not too greasy
a pound of mosquito knees
and a large plate of fried moonbeams.

Man, I wish I could find a copy of that song!!

2 Tacos al pastor
2 smoked pork ribs, St Louis Style/cut
Lamb in braised in yogurt (Lebanese/Jordanian food) with basmati rice and pine nuts
Romaine lettuce salad with bell pepper, red onion, whole black olives (pitted), carrots, whole hard-boiled egg, and Italian dressing
Mashed (with a touch of cream) rutabaga with butter and drizzle of maple syrup
Roasted acorn squash with real butter

And about a pound of thick cut peppered bacon.

5 pieces of salmon amateur
8oz New York Strip, marinated in Yoshida sauce and cooked on a charcoal grill with cherry and vanilla pipe tobacco put on the coals right before the steak hits the grill
1 lobster tail and a large dish of butter sauce
3 bbq pork ribs
2 slices of hand tossed pizza with sundried tomatoes, bacon, mozzarella and fetta cheese, and black olives
3 bottles of Wood Chuck Granny Smith
1 ceasar salad with crutons from Cattlemen's
Potatoes mashed with cheddar, colby, monterrey jack, mozzarella, velveeta, asiago, manchego, parmesian, and gouda cheeses
Fudge brownie sunday and peach cobbler

I never really understood the "last meal". Why feed them steak and lobster when they're going to be dead an hour later? Meanwhile, people are starving on the streets.
