I think its pretty ridiculous that this country seems to be headed in the direction of more gun control, while at the same time some states are legalizing criminal activity (smoking pot).
Once it started somewhere it will be the end of the 2nd prohibition. And what is more important than federal law is what the people of America want. If they want to legalize, regulate, tax, etc.. So be it, the federal law will change with the states.

They've got a clue, alright. It's called bigger budget for law enforcement agencies. The War on Drugs is one of the few areas where the answer to both a "successful" and "failed" law enforcement program is "throw more money at it".
That, and the civil forfeiture laws that encourage policing for profit rather than policing for public "safety". You don't have to be convicted of a crime for the government to take all of your assets - you just have to be accused of a crime. And it doesn't even have to be a solid case.
Anyway... if you want the best of both worlds, join the Libertarian Party! (Hey JB, you'd fit much better over here than with those Republicans)
