Most shooters like the lower 1/3 setup because it gives a more unobstructed view when you're shooting "heads up" and looking at the dot over the top of the rear sight. If for some reason the dot fails or you just want to use the irons, simply drop your heat or tighten up the cheek weld and you can now use the irons or see the dot on top of the front post in the lower third of the optic tube.

Allright! Thanks for all the help. I lowered the dot from the center of the scope to where it now sits on top of the front sight post,,,while looking through the rear sight. I think I finally got it.....I just thought something had to be wrong since it's in the lower third and not in the center like my last Aimpoint setup.... Thanks again for the help......I kept searching LaRue's site and all it said was it was The correct height-above-rail was trial & errored by "folks-in-the-know".

It said nothing about who those people are? Or what trials and errors were? Or if it was supposed to be centered or lower 1/3?

Yeah, that Aimpoint is a zero-parallax optic so if its sighted in and your irons are sighted in then in order to get the dot on top of your front sight-post - just lower your eye a touch (if they won't line up, both the optics and irons can't be sighted in correctly).

I've got that same mount - lower 1/3 co-witness is nice, but if you just have to have absolute witness then check out some of ARFcom's exchange WTB ads and I'm sure someone will trade with you.
