I was kinda scared when I got it cuz the bore was dark and looked pretty bad. I thought maybe it would brighten up once I cleaned it....It did not. Its got a dark bore but the rifling is still there and it still shoots like a dream. The action is also the smoothest I have, even smoother than my VZ24

My mosin's bore was a little dark when I got it, but I took some #0000 steel wool, wrapped it around the wire brush from my cleaning kit, and soaked it in rem oil. Ran it back and forth a couple times, then ran a patch with windex down the barrel. Repeated this several times and the bore polished up quite nicely.
