Used to have one of the Gerbers, they were cute little things and amazing at the time for being first (to my recollection) to use Zytel for amazingly light knives.

Beautiful border collie, had one for 18yrs who outlasted two wives, and missed far more than them.

Cannot even feel the Gerber in the pocket, very light.

Australian Shepard on the dog, but people get him confused half the time.

He looked a little "off" for a border collie but I chalked it up to blur and angle, but that was the wrong call.
Am pretty sure that smallest Gerber lighter than the lightest Spyderco LadyBug, but longer blade possible at that weight due weight going in blade rather than hump. I think Gerber did a Med and Lrg version. Somewhere around here I have what would be Med. in dark green, marked Zippo, no idea if Gerber or maybe Western or Camillus made it. None lasted long once the one-hand Clipit came out.

The large one is maybe made in Kauhava? Any maker marks on blade of the other, or is it hidden in handle? I posted a couple of puukko about middle of page 3 and another top of page 10 buried in a herd of Swedes, and glad to see someone else here post some pukkos.
Yes made in Kauhava. The makers name is in the blood groove written in fancy script. It may be Jarvenpaa but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the link, a fascinating and historic collection. My eyes went straight to the Sammi knives. The closest I have to historic are a couple of the Swede knives, one made in the 1930s, and another in the 1950s. I read much on the Suomi knives as I prefer their blade style more than Swede or Norse, but purchased very few.
The Sammi knife in the Swede herd a typical commercial knife by a family, but I bought it actually for the blade, the blade maker was a famous Kauhava puukkoseppa, Altti Kankaanpää, who for a short while set up in his own shop a commercial blade production, and the steel he used and his heat treat resulted in a "factory" blade of quite excellent performance, well worthy of his mark on them. I thought it interesting a handmade knife maker producing his own marked "factory" blades which in turn tied the handmades in quality.
