I want to talk about the funky stuff, pistol rounds, short barrels, and bizarre. Tell me your picks, and pics are welcome.

Some I find interesting:

- Lone Wolf Lower build
- Mech Tech upper
- Ruger Police Carbine
- marlin Camp 9/45
- SKS (short enough to consider Carbine)

Pitch in. I think most AR platforms are too easy, and not bizarre enough to tickle my pickle. Go ahead, tickle my pickle, you know you want to.

The Ruger PC9. A 9mm carbine that used Ruger P85 pistol magazines. Using full power hollowpoint loads it felt like I was shooting a .22. Regret getting rid of it and wish I could find another one.

I was considering the camp9 and sub2000 before the panic started. Ended up getting a Sterling Sporter by Wise Lite off Gun Broker. Haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet, but I think it'll be a fun gun.

Glock 20SF 10mm with Mech Tech conversion. Optic is a Vortex Sparc. Basically have less in this than what some people are paying for Keltec Sub2Ks.

Here's some downsides:

10mm is not cheap
If you reload you have to watch where brass is flying since that stuff is like gold right now
I haven't had this done very long and the only time I've had it at the range it was too cold to sight in the Vortex.

I like the idea of the Mech Tech in 9mm. I have a bunch of G17 and 18 mags and Glock frames can sometimes be found for around $300-$350 on GB. Of course a 10mm, 40, or 45 would be cooler but I already have the 9mm mags and ammo.

Occasionally one can catch some complete Mech Tech setups on GB for a fair price. Still kinda pricey for a 9mm carbine though when there are HiPoints available. I had a HiPoint but didn't like the 10 round mag. 10 rounds of 9mm is just getting the fun started! I still kick myself for not getting a Sub2K before the prices jumped into the stratosphere.
