We own a Tiffin gas motor home, very few problems but keep in mind it is a house on wheels and things break
It helps if you are capable of fixing and doing the maintenance yourself

Grand Design started off as a great company. Unfortunately, they sold out to Winnebago a few years ago and the quality immediately went to ****. Lot's of people now with frame issues. Keep in mind not all 5th wheels are made the same. Most are made for weekend warriors. If your planning on full time living in one. Get one that rated for it. Some manufacturers will not honor their warranty if they find you are living in it full time.

In your momma’s bedroom.
Wondered how long it would take for Grand Design to go in the toilet.

Sure glad we got rid of our POS Keystone when we did. New & Used lots and packed and nobody’s buying them anymore. Some of those hipsters who were saying screw traditional living lets hit the road and live the good life are regretting it now.

I think I would rather build out a quality cargo trailer than buy most rvs. You could also consider one of those sprinter vans that comes setup. Depending on how much you wanna spend.

When I was RVing, I camped at a military Famcamp in North Dakota and a retired guy had a 5th wheel next to me and he tried to convince me to go full time telling em there were no taxes, no painting, roofing or maintenance. He negelected to tell me that periodically one has to buy very expensive tires for the RV, it has to be maintained and repaired, road hazzards, tags etc and worse, if one is retired military or Civil Service and does camp in military Famcamps, every two weeks you have to move on.
There is an exception, the military RV camp at Davis-Mounthan AFB in Arizona will allow extended camping and that is very nice in the winter when every other place is cold. They even have a portable wash guy that comes aroudn and washes your rig and there is a doggie wash there as well, I'v enever seen one of those until we RV'd at DM.

Of course there is maintenance on an RV. I'd rather buy $1000 in ties than the $4500 I pay in home ins. and property taxes that do not benefit me one bit. Ins for an RV is cheap and yeah, tires bearings occasionally and the like. I owned a 5er for about 10 years and used the helll out of it. Never had to buy new tires in that time frame but it was also stored inside out of the sun when not in use.

you can travel and stay at nice hotels cheaper than buying and maintaining an motor home been there done that. also they depreciated so quick you will lose big when you decide to get rid of it ....and you will decide to get rid of it
Nice hotels are located in big towns and I want out of the rat race, not inside it.
Plus hotels are a gamble many times as far as clean and bedbugs n crap.
I know anything with tires depreciates.
Money isnt the concern. I cant take it with me when I'm dead.
