Winchester model 94 in 30-30. I always wanted one of these and bought this one off of Shoot Summ a couple of years ago. Great rifle and it will be my son's first deer rifle when he gets a few years older.

Dan- Otasco: Great memories there. I grew up in Enid and I think we had 3 of them in the 70s. My first 3 bikes came from there. The "Flying O". Also bought by first pistol there, a CVA black powder kit.

On the 30-30, I've never been a hunter but I had a 30-30 way back when just cause I though a lever action would be a gun plinker. At the time it simply cost too much for plinkin' and I traded it off. Now, 30-30 is cheap and plentiful. I may pick up another one if I can find a great deal.

Where are you finding the cheap and plentiful 30-30 ammo?

For a second I thought you had been in my safe.
The stock is likely a hardwood other than walnut, only difference from a standard 336.
Mine has a different medallion set in it and is marked as a model 3079.
I bought it new from OTASCO when I was 16 or 17. They were ok with selling it to me but insisted thst Dad pick it up with me, they stayd open almost an hour late so he could come in from work.

Where are you finding the cheap and plentiful 30-30 ammo?

I should clarify "cheap and plentiful" as compared to other rifle cartridges. I have not priced 30-30 in twenty years, since before I traded mine off but I did see ammo the other day at Bass Pro for like $13 a box while other rifle calibers I randomly checked were in the $18 range. I've also noticed that during the ammo scare in the earlier part of this year, 30-30 would be among the cartridges still in stock at Walmart whereas the shelves were bare for everything else.

They had several models produced for them. It would be nice if it was a walnut stock. But standard hardwood will work for me. Its sturdy, that is all I care about for now.

OH yes... Got some shots of my Levers.

Puma 1892 in .45 Colt and a Savage Model 99 in .300 Savage. Love those levers. This Savage is from 1927. Beautiful.
