Light primer strikes on Dad's BLR

He feel with the rifle a couple of years ago and it hit pretty hard (dented the scope). He says he can't remember for sure if it was shot after that. Went out to shoot this year and it won't go bang. Is there something to do or try before it goes to the gunsmith?

(not a gunsmith) I would try cleaning it real well, had a rifle do that and the bolt was full of crap and the pin could'nt engage like it should have.

We lubed it up good while we were there at the range. Didn't help. May have to see what it takes to get the bolt out and cleaned.
