There was a video, which I couldn't find where a tranquilized bear fell from a tree. Animal control had an outstretched blanket to catch it, and when the bear fell it tore the blanket and it ended up on the ground. There was another video of a bear being transported in a net suspended from a helicopter and the bear fell out...

Watch the skies for bears, not drones.

This sounds like my luck --

"A Virginia man has died after a bear in a tree shot by one of his hunting partners fell on him, state wildlife officials said.
The incident occurred Dec. 9 in Lunenburg County, which is between Richmond and Danville, Virginia’s Department of Wildlife Resources said in a statement.
A hunting group was following the bear when it ran up the tree, the department said. As the group retreated from the tree, a hunter shot the bear. The animal fell onto another hunter who was standing about 10 feet (3 meters) from the bottom of the tree.
The department identified the man as Lester C. Harvey, 58, of Phenix, Virginia. A member of the group rendered first aid before Harvey was rushed to two different hospitals.
He died from his injuries Friday, the wildlife department stated."

My condolences to his loved ones; story says he is survived by children and grandchildren.

Sounds like a pretty bad chance of survival if they rushed him to two different hospitals.
Wonder if both ambulances arrived at the respective hospitals at about the same time.

They said bears are used to falling from trees. That bear fell onto a concrete wall. He was bleeding and not moving.

I could bearly stand to watch. What I saw gave me paws. I found the video unbearable.
I hate to see animals suffer, but this happens very often. Some are a bit comical. Bears, Trees and Gravity do not mix. Wonder what my odds of having a bear fall on me are? Bet life insurance actuaries know...
