Humm, that number out of Fla. is surprising!
Florida has been inundated with blue state retiree refugees. The majority of them continue to belong to the cult of liberalism. We all know how those nut cases feel about firearms.

As an example, a thread on The High Road about Colorado.
In 2024 we narrowly dodged a nearly total firearms ban, only because it was so far reaching that even our governor said it went too far. Jared Polis, second only to Gavin Newsome on the socialist scale, said they were over reaching!

Now with the introduction of CO SB3 the Colorado Democrats are seeking to ban all semiautomatic firearms that use detachable magazines. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/colorado-at-it-again.936890/#post-13055476
Just a few years ago CO was conservative. Then kalifornians targeted CO by gaining control of their metropolitan areas. In four short years CO went from Red to Blue.

Sound familiar? Tulsa just elected a democrat for mayor, and I suspect this is going to be bad. A bad omen for Tulsa and bad for OK.

BTW, how's Oklahoma City doing?

Just saying.
Still have a lot of shooter/friends down there and they say the gun industry and ownership is thriving so I question the data. Also the data from Tx.

With the "aft" claiming they have records on 1 billion firearms, there is more than likely some basis in fact to this survey. A true statistician may be able to glean enough data to give a very good estimate based on surveys, politics, letters to politicians and a variety of other tabulated sources. I'm not verifying the accuracy, just saying with some serious time consuming study a number or percentage could be arrived at, especially in states with FOID cards and pistol permitting. Don't discount NICS either...
BATFE data is broken down by state and can be gathered for many years of historical reference. Speaking as a person who used to build statistical and economic models the problem here is that most who know little about guns will have to assume an arbitrary period of ‘usefulness’ of firearms to get the numbers they are looking for. As stated previously a survey result on this topic cannot be trusted anymore than a survey that asked ‘Do you abuse your spouse?’ So the modeler has to assume based on the numbers that they can collect and a factor for how long a single gun is in operational status (which we all know varies, but is generally a long time) compared to population. What the ATF numbers don’t include is multiple purchases, so the assumption of 1 has to be the standard.

Believe me it took longer than a few yrs, I just moved back from CO. after spending 20ys there. Conservatives and gun owners got lazy, consumed by their own interests. It was so sad to witness. TX is next, they are in the neglect stage at the moment but it’s happening.

OSA probably owns more guns than Maryland
Nope.
I lived there for 6 years. MD has as many freedom loving, redneck, good ole boys (and girls) as OK. And as robust a political 2A scene as any other state.

They just have a much larger population of democrats that overshadows them.

Seriously, there are probably more NFA items in MD than here in OK.

With the LA fires burning down 11,000 homes, there is not enough vacant houses in the state for the displaced. Get ready for the unwelcome immigrants. I had an aunt in Palmdale CA die a couple years ago, Her 1500 sqft house brought in $1,000,000. With there insurance checks they will be buying up all they can find here, and bringing Comiefornia politics. WE NEED MORE GUNS!

That's what I was afraid of. Our previous mayor in Tulsa was 'R' but was a RINO. He actually went to Denver to figure out how to handle our addicts/alcoholics/career bums living in the streets. After he got back, we discovered Denver was giving their bums/addicts/drunks bus tickets to Tulsa.

Now we've got a democRAT mayor.
