Never said it did. I think government should be as small as possible, but there needs to be some government.

Totally libertarianism lasts about 7 seconds before a strongman takes over and you have a tyrannical authoritarian government.

But creating a huge underclass reliant on .gov GUARANTEES a big powerful government.

It really is pretty simple We have the blueprint. We just need to follow it. It is called the Constitution of the United States.
Does the small government you envision arrest people for possessing a plant?

Financing people's poor choices isn't any more part of our foundational ideals than outlawing the possession and use of chemicals and plants.

Remove the subsidization and the problem largely solves itself. Of course there will be a lot of folks unable to stomach the idea of crack/meth babies dying because of poor parenting, and that will lead to more intervention and theft of taxpayer dollars to fund those little bastards too.

We've become too wealthy and comfortable to allow Nature to run her course. It is killing our nation and doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Yep, as much as I've come to love Oklahoma, its a 'nanny state'. I'm 74 and look it, and everytime I go to buy a bottle of wine they ask for an ID.

Oh, the absolute tragedy! Imagine the sheer agony of knowing that someone, somewhere, is engaging in an activity that you personally disapprove of—despite it having precisely zero impact on your life beyond the occasional whiff of something that offends your delicate, pearl-clutching sensibilities. Truly, it's a wonder you even manage to endure such an unbearable existence. Stay strong, warrior.
That's awesome man!!

That I could agree with. Legalize whatever, but ZERO public benefits. Druggies die in a ditch.
