Giffords was shot in the head. She's partially paralyzed on her right side and she can't speak more than 3 words without looking at a script. When she left the hearings she looked exactly like my wife struggling to walk. And it's taken her two full years of intense therapy to get to that point. I don't agree with her politics but I think anyone who regresses to the level of belittling her is just plain ignorant. If that's the best you can do in the way of debating the issue of gun control you've already lost. I figure someone who gets shot in the brain gets a free ride to think whatever they want about gun control.

There it is. Does it also, regardless of the position taken in another thread, qualify you as the arbiter of inanimate objects? Would she take identical actions if her injuries were the result of a traffic accident and campaign to remove motor vehicles from society, or campaign against stairs because she fell down a set?

Furthermore, the good Captain, while a ancillary victim at best, is no better than Sarah Brady. Both took a tragic incident and have milked it for every bit of political mileage.

I have been the victim of a drunk driver two times.

I do not wish to outlaw alcohol, nor have I quit drinking.

I do however, want the laws that are already in place to help prevent further DUI's as much as possible.
