I'm not going to advance any conspiracy theories, but why does this seem to happen when an election cycle is getting close?

Always think about this now, it seems (to me) once we start getting close to a election cycle they all the sudden either ramp up, or the media gives them more coverage.

I think it is the latter. Crazy people are gonna be crazy and occasionally do horrible things, regardless of what is going on in our nation or the world. What changes is that occasionally somebody needs a flashy headline on a slow news day, or was told they have an agenda to push.

The Doctors of the mental facility, the guy's commanding officer, and those in charge of the base he threatend to shoot up in the guard have a duty to report. Sounding like that didn't happen again.
