This is the guy that did a story on General Mchrystal that eventually took him down.

Hmmmm-
"The Los Angeles Police Department would not release the name of a male driver killed in one-car crash at approximately 4:25 a.m. in Hollywood. According to the Los Angeles Times, the vehicle crossed the median, slammed into a tree and burst into flames; the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. According to KTLA, coroner’s officials said the body was too badly burned to make an immediate identification. Video purportedly taken from the scene—posted on LAWeekly.com—shows a vehicle engulfed in flames."

I wonder what he found this time? Cars rarely burst into flames in an accident. Sure, it happens, but in this instance, it certainly adds some fishiness.

Hmm.....

Hastings' "hallmark as a reporter was his refusal to cozy up to power," the magazine said, pointing to an email exchange he had last fall with Hillary Clinton aide Philippe Reines in the aftermath of the Benghazi attacks:
Hastings' aggressive line of questioning angered Reines. "Why do you bother to ask questions you've already decided you know the answers to?" Reines asked. "Why don't you give answers that aren't ******** for a change?" Hastings replied.

Come on, he was probably out picking up gasoline for his law mower and didn't think about the danger of traveling with a plastic bucket of gas inside the car. Must've been a hot day and wanted to start early. Shame about the bad tire and broken steering link.

Gotta keep an eye on mechanical stuff.

Did anyone know that Gen McChrystal was the JSOC boss and had a long history with the 75th Ranger Regt? Lots of loyal, lifelong friends made along the way.

As an expert in automotive mechanics, I can attest that this type of thing simply does not happen, especially in a brand new Merc. Engines just don't fly out of cars, much less skid 100 feet. Cars are specifically designed to keep that from happening in collisions. I have looked at the tree, it is damaged, but the damage is consistent with an impact and a fire, not the type of impact that would catapult an engine. 150mph crashes don't launch engines. I think there was a bomb in the car. I really do.
