For sale is military surplus 7.62x54r. The can is open but unused. I don't know exactly what flavor of ammo this is but it's not light ball (would have silver stripe on can) or heavy ball (would have orange stripe on can) so I'm assuming this must be standard velocity.

That dates to 1985. By then, the use of the silver stripe was inconsistent at best. It is indeed steel core light ball.

7,62ЛПСГЖ means it's 7.62mm light ball bullet with mild steel core (ЛПС) in a gilded or copper-washed steel case (ГЖ).

In short. It's your run of the mill milsurp 762x54r ammo.

I did some googling and it is indeed steel case light ball. I didn't know they stopped using the silver/orange color code but its been a while since I've bought any. Its perfect Mosin food.
