On GB they're hanging out around 3k for a 45-70, from what I can tell. I really like them. The marlin dark series are very popular right now and go for big money.

Yes sir. My shop has built all of these so far, with many more to come.Dude, these are cool af! This first one is my favorite. I'm pretty sure I read that you're doing this work; is that correct?

Nice! I should've pulled the trigger on several firearms I had eyes on a couple years ago.Found one when they first came out $780 including shipping
Your gun, your rules, no? That's my philosophy.I'm just entering into the lever gun field. Henry .22 mag and my FIL Marlin 336 which will remain as inherited.
I'm in the crowd that says if you can find a classic gun and can make it pretty, get after it.
The classic crowd says leave it as found as the value will decline if modified.
I don't care. I don't sell guns but have restored several to new condition like a Win Mod 12 shotgun and some older .22's by refinishing the stocks. My heirs can debate if that should or should not have happened.
Put a short tube red dot on the Henry .22 mag, using it for armadillos and the lever gun steel challenge at our range.
