Morning!! Saw there was a flood warning. In the Panhandle. ONLY in the Panhandle. Wonder when the last time THAT happened was??
The Cimarron River runs through the Panhandle north of the town where I grew up. It was famous for taking out the bridge going into Colorado because the bridge was wooden, low in height, and single lane with three boards running from end to end for each wheel of the vehicle.
We finally had a county commissioner that built a concrete one with proper height. First flood that came along, he ran up there, sweating nervously, and watched a tree come down the river and hit the bridge.
That bridge is still there.
