I just finished 2 of my favorites to just entertain when nothing else seems right.

Toy Soldiers, the movie about terrorists taking over a prep school.

And Major Payne, just Damon Wayne’s being absolutely inappropriate by today’s standards but hilarious at the same time

Fast Times at Ridgemont High. A good 80s comedy with a lot of kids that went on to be stars.
I actually watched that for the first time ever. I was very unimpressed, but there were a lot of young stars. Forest Whitaker had a bit part. He was pretty slim. I started watching Sherlock Holmes on YouTube with Basil Rathbone. Lots of pretty interesting movies.

Tonight I watched "News of the World". Before tonight I had never heard of "News of the World" and it seems this 2020 movie got limted runs and that's a shame, in my opinion it is Oscar nomination worthy.

The movie is set in 1870 Texas which is still feeling the effects of the Civil War. Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd a former confederate captain played by Tom Hanks is tasked with escorting 10 year old Johanna played by Helena Zengel, who 6 years ealier had been taken and raised by the Kiowa, to her aunt. The movie does an outstanding job at making as much as possible period correct. The firearms were correct as well as the clothing. While there are gunfights this not the typical cowboy movie shoot 'em up. This movie is well done and very well acted.
