There were a couple of MRAP's (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle) in the motor pool area at work today. First ones I have seen. I did not realize how big they are! They make a HMMWV look small!!

All about "stand-off" baby....higher up, farther from the blast.

Have you seen the JERRVs or Buffalos? They are beasts too.

They're way better at "resisting" IED's but they SUCK at maneuvering. If you think that's big, I hope you get to see a Buffalo. Those puppies are HUGE.

MRAP is not nearly as good as the MATV especially on unimproved roads or off-road. However, on the US road system I think that MRAPs would generally be quite usable.
