Muzzleloader breech plug is plugged!

Hey guys, I’m trying to solve an issue for my dad… he was cleaning his muzzleloader with CVA’s foam cleaner and now his breech plug is completely plugged after letting it sit overnight. We have tried using air, fine wire, and trying to let it soak, nothing has worked yet. I need some help with this one, and we decided it wouldn’t be safe to just shoot a primer through it. Any suggestions?

If soaking doesn’t work, it sounds like a piece of metal. Powder and residue should soften up pretty easily. Could be lead I suppose.

What do you suggest to soak it in? I did not have a bit small enough

Do you have a pick or a piece of wire that you can poke in there.
If it’s lead, heat would work.

I tried small pieces of wire, safety pin, and it still won’t break loose.

Vinegar? I don’t know but I used it to remove rust from a muzzleloader barrel inside don’t get it on bluing or the bluing will come off

Blast it out with primers. If you use a bit, it can't be any larger than the existing hole.

I feel like that may damage the muzzleloader don’t you think?
