When I drove aircooled VWs everywhere, I kept everything and rebuilt it/kept as a spare. In the trunk was always enough to make it home on a road trip sans catastrophic engine failure.

So, I was planning on replacing the original plugs, wires, rad hoses, serpentine belt on my 2008 Toyota RAV4…
Everything works & looks ok, just thought 15 yrs is long enough

MY corolla is a 1995 and I keep the engine clean as I power wash it every oil change 3000 miles.
My upper radiator hose got a hole in it just this year 22 years and 362,000 miles.

I have now replaced 2 hoses under the hood that one and the PCV hose.

What I learned here is to have a swampratt in the vehicle along with some stray speaker wire. Load up bud we're making a trip.

Heck a Corolla will do that uphill dragging a Ford Taurus behind it.

Well maybe not as this was built in a GM plant in california and Same as the Chevy Prism or Pontiac Vibe plant and they did not offer an extra capacity cooling system.
Dang GM engineers.

But at least they fixed the Turning radius issue they were plagued with for years
