Really nice job. I want to do something like that on my back patio. Does that type of tiling retain some friction when wet??

I've been on some outside stuff that was slick as snot.

This has alot of "texture", I've had it wet and it is not slick.

I did have a section that was a little slick after I sealed it and discovered I did it wrong, fixed it and no issue after that.

1/3 portland cement and 2/3 sand. wet down to good consistency broom into cracks and wash it off.

I believe that is the ratio.

My boss put a rock patio in behind his house 10 years ago. still no chipping of the grout between the rocks.

That is typical for stone set in sand, we want a little color and grout is a better fit for this install.

You did a nice job there! What did you use to set the tile in place? On what is the tile sitting?

Thinset, and concrete.

VERY Nice, I'd like for you to do mine ! :-)

It was hard enough to get me to do mine...

Very nice!! I love that color of tile.
We had some masonry work done awhile back and the grout is popping out. so we called the guy back out, and he redid it.
Popped out again.....I need to take some pics and see if any of our experts know what I can do.

1 of 2 things, the stone is moving, or the grout isn't sticking to the stone, did he seal the stone before he grouted?

Doesn't look good. Looks GREAT!!! I'll PM you my address so you can get right to work. FYI, I kinda like earthy tones.

We like the colors as well. We weren't sure at first, the enhancing sealer really brought the color out. I laid all of the tiles out and placed them individually by color and texture to mix it up. It's interesting, some of the pavers have iron pyrite in them that is visible. The stone is pretty hard, harder than travertine, cut pretty well with a wet saw on the straight cuts, had to experiment a bit to find a good dry cut blade for the irregular cuts. My round over cutter worked pretty well on the step.

I know nothing about masonry, but we had an existing concrete area around the pool, and I put in a raised concrete patio on one end.
We thought the stone would make it look nicer, and its the same stone that is on our house. It looks awesome, but the grout where it ties to the concrete is what is popping out.
Its too late now, but I'll take some pics.

Yea, there is some expansion, he may have to caulk that area instead.
