Do these function well? I mean, the .44 Mag has a rimmed case and I would think that could be an issue?

The MK XIX gets good reviews: relatively speaking. Subject to limp wrist syndrome and you can't really shoot much out of one weaker than what one would consider a full power factory load. I imagine H110 or AA9 would be good candidates for a handload. They seem to like 240gr bullets.

I've read a lot about them but don't own one - YET! So take my opinion with a grain of salt and do your research before you buy.
