If anyone can give me some info on buffing and polishing metal I would really appreciate it. I enjoy buying used knives and cleaning them up but I don't really know the best way to do it.

I have assorted cloth wheels and a belt grinder...I need to know the best polishing compounds. I have some jewlers rouge. What about sand paper grits?

As you can see you are dealing with Ned in the first reader!

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Joe

The way we buff stuff to a mirror finish is we start with 80 and double it until we get to around 3000, which is pretty damn close to mirror but it needs a cream to finish evening it out.
