My 85 year old father in law has 5 MEC reloaders, thousands of empty hulls, misc powder, a thousand or so 209 primers, and what look like bushings. He wants to sell as a lot and I don’t know how to suggest he price want to sell all as a lot. Value ideas?

Hard to put a price on used hulls but boxes of AA hulls and some of the others are certainly worth a bit to the right person.
The primers are easy to put a value on, check MidwayUSA or Ballistic Products.
If there are wads that would be good if they have part numbers associated with them. Important to know exactly what wad is being used.
Powder; well if any of it is open it's basically worthless. If sealed, figure $30 to $50 per pound.
The MEC presses are really interesting. One of them appears to be a progressive which is $600 new. Used value, well who knows. The single stage presses sell new from $250 to $400. That pile of bushings is nice.

I don't know if you'll find a single buyer for the whole lot. I'm in the market for a MEC press but I don't need 5 of them. I guess if you sold the entire lot for a low enough price you might find someone who will simply resell the lot piece by piece for their own profit.

Thank you for the information, I'll ask if he is willing to split it up. There are lots of wads and a good amount of AA hulls.

Used AA hulls are $0.05 each

The MEC, model and guage will be needed. The appropriate bushings need to be with the loader. Hard to identify in those pics.

As a lot, will bring less, than splitting up.

I have 6 MECS, great tools. Trying to get grandson set up. I may be interested in the whole lot.

I'm ignorant on shotshell reloading, but why would anyone need 5 or even 6 different mecs? Are they that much of a pain to set up for each load or is it so you can exploit the whole family on each press for cheap labor? Lol.

Looks like he has a 300, some 600 Jrs, and a 650. Based on prices I have seen recently at local clubs, the 300 isn’t worth much, the 600 Jrs are worth $100 tops with all parts in good condition, and the 650 is worth $150 tops with all parts in good condition.

$.05/each is a good starting point for once fired AA and STS hulls. You can probably get a little more if they are the old style AA hulls and are once fired

IMO, the powder I can see in the pics looks pretty old and probably isn’t worth much, especially if it is open.

The buyer would need to plan on at least new bottles to get the presses running. The MEC bottles become brittle when they turn brown and have tendency to crack.
