Question.Do you have to have an SB-2 receiver to convert to a rifle caliber from a shotgun?.What are the options with an SB-1 or do they even do it?

I would check with the guys at Greybeards. All good guys and willing to help.
There's a couple sticky topics at the top of the handi section that answer all kinds of questions.

I have a 12 ga NEF "partner?" that I am going to have converted to a smokeless muzzle loader (NEF doesn't do that). I called NEF about the strength of the receiver and they said they would put nothing hotter than a .223 on this receiver. The smokeless muzzleloader folks explained to me that all the pressure is handled by the breech plug, so their system will work on about any receiver.

I am unfamiliar with the SB 1 vs SB 2 differences, so no help from me there. CB

Thanks for the info.there's enough there to make my head swim.I registered and searched around.Looks like 357 maximum or 223 are the max for the SB-1 receivers. The 357 max cartridge has always intrigued me. Maybe i'll do that one.
