For Aussies which I've had a few and don't particularly like way to stubborn and easily side tracked I went with goofy names. Like Wiley (after the coyote) Scooby dumb foghorn and yogi. All of which fit their personalities. Won't own another one. I much prefer heelers. The current male I have is named stick(he sticks to me like gorilla glue). And my newest female was already responding to Molly when I picked her up. Good luck with the new pup if Aussies aren't required to work unlike mine they would probably make a great pet.

Very interesting, I have had exactly the opposite experience. Never saw a Heeler that was not a problem or worth his food.

As Aussies are pretty smart, maybe you offended them with the names, and they got even.

Note to self...Don't let Been name your dog.

We decided on Hank but looks like Emily, my girlfriends 5 year old daughter, is calling him "Jet". I think thats is pretty cool name also but i think would be more fitting for something like a bird dog.

If I was still baching it he woulda been named dammit or sicem or ugly or dog or after some cool John Wayne character (WAIT! They all were cool!)
