Winner Winner, chicken dinner. There have been M4 Carbine style rifles run in hard use classes(up to a 1000+ rounds in a weekend) in consecutive classes over many months with no cleanings with nothing more than more oil thrown on the bolt carrier and the rifles were fine. That's not to say that you shouldn't maintain your weapon system, but there's the misconception that an AR pattern rifle needs to be clean to function and it's just not true.
