Want To Buy Nintendo 2DS

Looking to buy my kiddo their first handheld video console. Not sure that the Nintendo Switch units are quite rugged enough. Please give me a shout if you happen to have a 2DS unit laying around that is not being used.

I still have my Tomy_Tronic 3D video game (hand Held) and it works like new.
From 1983.
How is that for rugged.
Probably not high tech enough.
