His jail is also the model of efficiency, costing the taxpayers substantially less per incarceree (is that a word?) than other major city/county hoosegows. "Visitors" work, produce goods & food, learn trades & skills and even earn a little $. His system should be adopted everywhere, but the ACLU and-like minded outfits would have a hissy. (As an aside, would be good if all state prisons operated the way Burl Cain runs his.)
I agree. I heard he would not let the incarceree's (let's say it's word cause it's cool) have coffee because it had no nutritional value.
