Unlike Pit bulls attacks, those dang Basset Hound attacks are always showing up in the news, aren't they?

NO! There is a problem with the owner not understanding the purpose of the breed. Nobody is making anyone to get a dog. If you can't handle a working/sporting/terrier breed - don't get one: there are plenty toy and non-sporting dogs out there .... or cats.
what most people dont realize is that pits/pit crosses DONT bite people more often than other dogs do. matter of fact the numbers i've seen puts em way down the list. the reason you only hear about "pit attacks" is because its ALOT worse when they do. if i remember right, cocker spaniels, poodles, & chihuahuas were at the top of the list, but when granny's chihuahua bites your ankle you get a bandaid, not 1000 stitches & a news story. & to say a pit doesn't bite harder than other dogs the same size, well thats just straight up BS. that head was bred on em for just that purpose. it's what makes a pit a pit.

I didn't close this thread but had intended on doing so. These PB threads surface every now and then whenever there is a news article. They never turn out well. Bottom line, some love them, some don't care they just like to stir the pot, and some dislike/despise the breed. Everyone just go hug one today, share the love. lol
