I suspect that at least part of the problem is, crooked politicians, with the hel[p of the LAP DOG NEWS MEDIA, playing each group, against the other, as a way of gaining political support, and votes! Obama is a MASTER MANIPULATOR, and has set human, and race relation, back 100 years in this country, for his personal/political gain! We have an adult daughter that has had serious problems with drug abuse since she was 15! A couple of years ago, she was abusing perception drugs, several doctors in this area were writing her perceptions for these drugs, KNOWING she was addicted to them! Pharmaceutical Corporations offer INCENTIVES, CASH, TRIPS, ETC, to doctors to precribe more of these addictive drugs, and create more addicts! We have fought this for 35 years, and watched our daughter almost die several times, and NOT ONE POLITICIAN FROM ETHER PARTY HAS DONE, OR EVEN SAID, ONE WORD ABOUT THIS CRIME! PRESIDENT TRUMP DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I GUESS HE DIDN'T NEED THE BRIBE MONEY? NO WONDER THE CROOKS AND BIG Rx, WANTED HIM OUT OF OFFICE! I reached the end of my rope one day, I had talked to several doctors offices, they won't talk to me in person, I threatened to report them to the state medical authorities, etc, all a waste of time! This day I went to the city police, to talk to them about this one doctor being a DRUG DEALER, they almost arrested me, for being up set about this, so I went to this doctors office, and went in to talk to this bastard. OF course they wouldn't allow me to see him, so I told a waiting room full of patiants what this jerk really was, LOUD AND CLEAR! I left and after I cooled off this SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME, because had I been armed, I'm not sure what I would have done! I changed my way of thinking that day! Now as BLATANT, UNFAIR, and EVIL, as this legalized drug dealing by doctors is, there is nothing I can do about it, and I finially had to admit no one is forcing my daughter to take this crap! frustration can cause us to do some crazy things in the heat of the moment, that WE WOULD REGREAT FOR A LIFE TIME! She is doing much better I think?
old john we all know people who are either dead or dying from big pharma's drug market.

people fought a 20 year war in afghanistan just so big pharma could make record profits killing millions of americans with synthetic opioids. that's all it was; the whole thing.

the doctors are in on it because they get HUGE bennies from the pharma reps. the pharma reps are in on it because they get HUGE bonuses for selling the drugs.

it's all a racket; and "health care" is about to get a massive look in our country as people turn to violence against them. not saying it's good or bad but it's going to happen. people are going to start killing doctors and nurses en masse. i'm not joking.

Maybe I’m reading more into your original post than what‘s there, but having “intense conversations“ and “telling” folks what to do, doesn’t sound like just offering advice or sharing ideas. Maybe there’s no difference, but to me, there is. :anyone:

I’d actually like to hear your family’s reaction to these conversations you’ve had with them. I would wager that they see them more from my perspective than yours.

I'm sorry you got the impression I was a dick about it. I wasn't. I think you are reading more into it than what's there, based on the fact that I my first post was written from a place of frustration at all the things I'm seeing and how some of my family had not really acknowledged it. Both my siblings are very focused on work and kids, leave relatively insulated lives, and aren't exactly news hawks.

As far as telling them what to do, the way I approached it was along the lines of "here is what I'm seeing" followed by "here is how I am adjusting my behavior accordingly" and then basically "you should consider doing this to lessen the chance of having a problem" because of a variety or reasons, including our own known shortcomings or attitudes. I need to reiterate, none of these conversations were confrontational, but they did involve our tendency to react certain ways - which I need to watch myself just as much as they do - as part of the discussion..

And to their reaction, it was positively received. The discussion related to things that they've seen or heard about but didn't really connect to a larger trend, they had written it off as one-time things or as a vague, undefined sense of something amiss but not really as an issue that needed be addressed yet. My brother, any conversation with him needs to be handled with kid gloves, you'd have to know him to understand. But he reacted much the same way - yes, he noticed a change in peoples attitudes and that agreed that it would be best to avoid some situations he would normally charge into.

So yeah, I guess I did tell them - but more in the sense of I brought it to their attention that this tension is a real, widespread phenomenon and that certain actions or behavior we engage in isn't helping rather than "you have to do this or else". And yes, I count that as advice and suggestions. I'm the youngest and least successful of my family, there's no way I'm going to be able to boss either of them around, but it's not going to stop me from telling them what I see and how it pertains to us.

Thanks for clarifying because I came out with same impression as retrieverman did on your other post.

Can't say I have seen much change. Being around Ft Sill and Lawton, they drive like idiots anyway. A red light means 6 more cars, minimum.

Shelves are empty. Prices rising. Panhandlers everywhere.

I was planning retirement. Now, who knows.

For the present time, Wif's car is not paid for. My truck, 2 houses, land and cattle are mine. Backyard garden is making.

Stock market crash worries me. Idiots in goobermint destroying savings and social security is a given. Cash is disappearing.
Moron pResident promised $10 gas and rolling blackouts. August should be fun.

Civil war, riots, roving gangs; our doors are always locked and gun within easy reach.
I left Lawton 12+ years ago to live in the City. I used to work on Ft Sill and now I work on Tinker. Before I left Lawton I didn’t recall many bums at all. There was a tall old black man that wore old BTUs and had a big Afro pushing a cart all the time. I think that was around 2nd St. Fort sill Boulevard. And then there was an old white man, white beard that was shorter that fit the almost the same description wearing old BTUs. There was old crazy Larry and his bicycle. But he wasn’t homeless and usually just had a painted face. Lawton has always been a little bit ghetto but it didn’t look as bad as you were describing when I left.

Now as for dip shite drivers on the road in Lawton? I can’t count how many times some idiot almost killed me when I was riding my Harley through that town.

I'm sure this is no news to anyone on this forum, but I've had to talk to a few family members about rising tension in society.

I have seen more public altercations and road rage incidents in the past six months than I've ever seen in my life. People getting into confrontations over stupid stuff, turning a small issue or perceived wrong into reasons to release frustration and anger. Went through Fort Worth on Friday to get to a job in Waco, and saw three road rage incidents as I drove through on I-35. The other day some people got into a fight in a Walmart parking lot over a shopping cart. Everyone is on edge, people are more confrontational, and seemingly have less care to give. Society is seething right now, and it seems to me that it is going to boil over into something really nasty. We all know the reasons why, but this isn't about the politics or economics of it.

My brother is hot-headed as it is, and I had a pretty intense conversation with him about him needing to cool it off a bit and be smarter about stuff. I've had to tell my nieces and nephews to be more aware of their surroundings rather than being on their phones ignoring everything around them. Had to tell my sister to not drive so aggressively. I don't like having to tell them, but I'm scared they're going to get into a little incident and then it escalates into something no one wants to deal with.

Anyways, just a reminder that things are getting crazy and worse. You might think about having some discussions with your family, especially if you know they are maybe more susceptible to confrontation, like my brother, or if they are more oblivious to the current state of things, like the younger ones in my family. I know having that talk with my brother was a good thing, as difficult as it was. Stay safe, ya'll.
I hear rumblings about a civil war, Canada is even beefing up their borders for fear that thousands of refugees might be swarming across from the US. People are losing everything, because of our completely incompetent government, I can't blame them, I'm a retiree trying to live on a fixed income, I've had to give up a lot over the past year and I don't see any improvement anytime in the future. This makes it real hard to be patient and courteous to those who are turning into rats on a burning ship.

“not saying it’s good or bad”??? How is murdering doctors & nurses (or anyone because of their profession) not a bad thing??

Because JOC said so that's why!

What's typical of a conspiracy theorist is they add all this hype and drama with words like "en masse" then unable to back their claims. Yeah, a few doctors/nurses/hospitals have had shooters but 'en masse' is quite an overreach.

Estimated 5,475,000 nurses(RN, LPN, NP). Estimated 1,018,776 physicians. Total 6.493,776. To me and likely most, "en masse" would probably equate to at least 10%. Right? 649,377 would have to be killed. Maybe 1% aligns better to his definition of "en masse". 64,937.

He can link you to a few articles about hospital shootings but it ain't anywhere even CLOSE to 1% but let's get everyone to play my conspiracy game and then I'll change the definition of 'en masse' to fit the narrative. This dude is a real piece of work.

I'd LOVE to see the sources for the Afghanistan war being 100% for the big pharma companies to make millions/billions on the opioid market. Laughable.
