We found the little guy/gal today. I believe it's the same species as the giant you ran into.
Very likely that the one you saw was a female on her way to, or coming from, laying eggs.

I upload pics from my cell to photobucket..........then copy and paste to the forum. Some of the small pics are those that are pasted from people using Tapatalk.
