Took my wife to Galveston last week for Valentine's Day. We were created by some of the thickest fog I have ever witnessed. It lasted day an night. Thursday night it was so bad you couldn't see 50 feet in front of you. The last two are basically the same view showing two stages of fog.

Meet Dennis, the Fridge Chicken.

Dennis sat un-turned in a wooden bowl on a counter-top for a couple weeks before finding his way into my refrig for a couple weeks.

A Bud lost his favorite and only Rooster, Rusty, to a predator. I found a dozen eggs in the back of the fridge and remembered these were from Rusty's last days. Out of remembrance to Rusty and hoping for a replacement rooster, I put the 7 biggest and best looking eggs in my Brinsea. 3 Showed signs of being fertile, 2 made it to day 15, only 1 showed any movement or promise after day 18.

Dennis pipped early on day 22, on the wrong end of the egg, probably due to being stored in the wrong position in the fridge. He never did poke thru the air pocket and was having a tough go. I removed a ring of shell leaving the membrane intact. A couple hrs later Dennis finally arrived last Friday at midnight.

He's growing like a weed, already bigger than 4 Atwoods chicks 4-5 days his senior.
