Pocket and belt carry.

You guys’ with the full size 1911’s inspired me today - but likely won’t EDC the big 10 ever again —- I’m putting my flame suit on for admitting this, but after carrying Glocks for years, this ‘ol boy is just too heavy for me. I’ll save it for bear defense when I’m bow hunting— and makes a darn nice bbq gun

Except for dragging out stuff just to carry it for fun, and it actually be "used" in at least leaving the house from time to time, as said at the beginning of this topic, I'm pretty much going to be carrying a full sized handgun and not much else. I carry mex habitually and a 1911 is still one of the flattest handguns ever made, and mex doesn't have all the weight outside the belt levering out and down.
Same on the larger knives IWB or under belt...if carrying weight on a belt, I want an issue belt with suspenders.

And I realize many folk cannot carry as I do, such as most folk with any thicker middles than me, which is the majority of the population handily beating my 32", with anything carried mex really digging in on them. But for me, a 1911 tucks right in, so much that even outside a tucked shirt, shirt blousing nearly completely hides it....while with the thick-slided Glocks, trying to carry that way just kills me, as if cinching a belt tight on a building block in my britches, and I don't see how anyone can carry one IWB AND with added hard plastic holster.

Love the big ten....never owned one, but the height of cool.

I dropped a bunch of pounds and 4" on my waistline in the last year (hence needing to break in the new gun belt as i detailed in an earlier response) -- and i must admit -- carrying anything is now much easier. And my usual uniform this time of year is an untucked flannel shirt - it hides almost anything, within reason. Still not getting along with the darn new belt though so i go back to my Dynamis velcro job - but a full size 1911 or a L frame 'Smith really test its limits.

With that operation, i carry at 4' o clock on the hip, but the Glock (usually a 29) rides appendix

Heck, me and holsters just do not get along, and IWB versions just make everything too fat for IWB on my skinny self, while a belt holster with gun away from CG just magnifies weight, chafes hip bones, bangs and clangs into everything including my elbow and makes bucket seats a true pain...Milt Sparks made me a yaqui belt slide years ago, a more minimal holster does not exist, and I really do not even care for it....I carry mex mainly as I pretty much can't any other way, not and want to.

Formerly regularly carried fat cylindered .45 revolvers with ease all the day long, but with age they have become unfun, the L-frame cylinder as large as I want to feel planted in side.
Congrats on the losing 4", but that is countercultural and brands you as a troublemaker, and I think breaking in pistol belts is banned as cruel and unusual punishment in at least 32 states, so be careful of that, and carry talcum powder at all times and maybe moleskin for hotspots.

PS- knowing nothing more advanced than quartz analog, what is that watch?
