Kids usually don't go to a particular school because of how good their football team is unless they are attending to play that particular sport. My only guess is that these are private schools and that they get most of their money from the extreme tuition they charge per student. And/or they get big $$$$ donations from their ultra wealthy alum. Anywhere from $30K - $50+K per year for tuition.
Why would anyone want to go to one of these schools? IMO, people go to these schools because they are smarter than the average student and attend these institutions for a very specific and very reputiable degree program. Or they are in their HS upper 1% of the graduating class and just throw a dart at a board full of these Ivy League schools and their wealthy parents cut the check or they get academic scholarships.

Any ******** that thinks sports idiots deserver more money than our service members, needs to get a life and re-organize their thinking.
Not sure how your argument fits in here. Of course our service members are WAAAAYYYYY underpaid, and by many peoples standards not treated fair enough for the work they do. I feel the same for several other professions as well.
To compare the salaries of sports figures and our service members shouldn't even be argued in the same conversation. What is the point of said statement above?
Getting paid to PLAY vs. Paid to put your life on the line for others, and the way that our society values one more than the other.
