Sounds like it's about time for a new police chief!

This + 1 to the Nth Power.

Every time I hear an "Official" say that "civilians" shouldn't, this that or the other, it does two things. 1. irks the crap out of me, 2. makes me wonder if they think they are in the military. News flash jackhole, unless you wear a uniform that has U.S. + (branch of service) you are a civilian, so STFU!

This is a problem from the top down. Although one has assumed this is not how the rank and file believe. This is where i for one disagree. I personally divide the force into two catagories. The first and more towards the "rank and file" in which is referred is the old guard. the Fine officers that protect and serve the community. they do understand that every law abiding citizen has the right and is encouraged to protect there own. however, the 2nd of which is more the menace to our society that is referred to. These are the new breed of Police that are drunk with power. the same koolaid that the current administration on the federal level has poured for the current rank and file. I have spoke to many who wear the badge and the Old Guard would turn in their badge and walk away rather than to enfringe on the legal rights of a law abiding citizen. Now I introduce the new class police that because they have been given a job that they can weild some authority and to somewhat go unchallenged by the law abiding populus. However, this can be abused by the very ones that it is bestowed upon. My opionion is that the new breed of Police has the propensity to do just that. I also believe that they would without any hesitation stomp on the rights of a law abiding citizen given a simple directive from the feds. Now this may sound like a person with a grudge but not in this case, it's just my observations. To bring this point to full circle this new breed of officer lead by the weak administrations would not be happy until we the people are an unarmed society and dependant upon they the armed for our safety and security. which if it ever happens we will not have either!!

If we were talking county sheriff that's one thing, but a city sheriff I think takes a change from the mayor. Someone else can probably answer better than I.
