Damn y’all are crackin me up here… keep on going! I agree partially with pretty much everyone on certain points

My wife’s mother was Indonesian and her grandfather was 100% foreign immigrant who looked very similar to the individual in this case.

My wife’s grandfather joined the Dutch navy when Indonesia had major political issues during WW2. He was a military man. He spoke Indonesian and Dutch fluently, but English was a 3rd language for him. When the Dutch were ran out of Indonesia he got into a program to immigrate to the US legally and brought his family here.

He passed away about 10 yrs ago, but this story could’ve easily been him. Although I think due to his military background he never would’ve disrespected a man in uniform like Mr vu did

Except he was charged. It took the AG butting in to drop that charge.

The AG dropping charges means there are NO charges .. That is how it works it happens all the time in our legal system for right or wrong ... this time though

The AG was right and the local prosecutor and IA were wrong. on everything save too much force .. Your comments pretty much show you probably don't need to be an attorney. While I am not one either I know how read and knew how this would end. The DA was being activist in this case and wasn't following the LETTER of the law

The old man was way out of line.

Again the officer should have elevated this is progressive steps but these people were acting like clowns. Hard to armchair quarterback if we weren’t there. I’m just tired of the criminals always being the victim. Take your damn ticket and move on,
a ticket for what??
He was a making left turn when the other lady hit him. The officer should have requested a translator who was less than 5 minutes away. Officer acted like he was late for the 2 for 1 donuts sale that ended at noon at Dunkin.

That is not what happened , the old man caused the accident not the woman. He was being issued a citation for being at fault in the accident. He refused to take the citation and became combative / argumentative. The fine art of knowing when to remain silent wasn't in his tool box

wrong, he was making a left turn, she ran into him. They pulled over and waited for police. He shows up and starts issuing tickets. The officer didn't take the time to find out what happened, hence the translator being needed.

I don’t know the laws cited in this instance. I agree that the gentleman should not have touched the officer. However, the response from the officer was way out of line. Maybe he shouldn’t have been charged with a crime, but he certainly should not ever again be in any position of authority.

I can agree he doesn't need to be a cop , allowing him to be charged though would be counter to state law and set a bad precedent though. Similar things have happened in blue states and you can see how its worked out for them. Drummond did the right thing , now OKC can let this guy go and he can find another pursuit which will be more suited to his temperament.

So he used excessive force, which injured the old man (probably permanently), but he did nothing wrong. You can’t have it both ways.

If you or I did what the cop did we’d be on our way to prison.
