From the article:

"Meanwhile, the Brady Campaign is setting its sights on 17 states that have a ballot initiative process like Washington state, reasoning that advocates can bring the issue directly to the voters, rather than relying on legislation.

In addition to Nevada and Oregon, those states include Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

By tackling gun control at the state level, advocates hope they can eventually pressure Congress into acting on federal gun reform."

States don't stay "red" forever. The worst mindset is the "It'll never happen here" mindset. While people are wrapped in the warm blanket of their denial others are making things happen incrementally so that, one day, the deniers wake up in a state they don't recognize and that isn't aligned with their values anymore.

I agree things change. Who would have thought that Colorado would have passed the stuff they did?

But using the knowledge they are providing I would suggest we do exactly what they would hate. Start an initiative here before they are ready that will prevent the same actions they are proposing and make sure it stays that way.

Haha, good luck. Now getting Constitutional Carry on a ballot initiative might be a viable option... it would certainly bypass the closet nanny statists in the legislature who won't say so publicly, but who are secretly afraid of their tax cattle having that much freedom, and never let such a bill out of committee.

"They" may never get very far here in Oklahoma, but they seem to be doing quite well making inroads in other states! Be sure and read Alinski's Rules For Radicals. They will never give up. It will be wave after wave of attack
