Cultural defenses other than Sharia Law are more of a problem in the United States than Sharia Law.

That paragraph that you posted didn't explain anything other than "Islam == bad". What about other religious groups, including Christian extremists?

I'm still waiting on intelligent answers rather than xenophobic rhetoric.[/QUOTE]

other religions are not trying kill everyone that dissagrees with them. that is exactly what sharia law is all about. either you submit to islam or die.there are no other accepted terms.

I dont care what religion you choose, just dont force it on me. That is what sharia law does. it is not a religion, it is a way of life. not hard to figure out.

This has nothing to do with other countries bringing their bussiness to OK. it is about how the laws will be viewed in future cases.

As the measure is written, here's what will happen with foreign business relations:

Oklahoma-based DeepOff* is world-renowned for exceptional off-shore drilling. BigOil* of Columbia would like to contract with them to drill their off-shore leases.

Because the service will be performed in the territorial waters of Columbia, the laws governing the contract will be the laws of Columbia (whether explicitly stated or by default).

BigOil's legal department, trying to make sure its bases are covered, find out that Oklahoma courts are unable to refer to international law. Because the courts cannot refer to international law, Oklahoma will be unable to enforce any judgments brought against DeepOff in the event of a breach of contract.

BigOil decides to take their business to Texas-based Slackers*. DeepOff, realizing that its ability to do business is hindered by being located in Oklahoma, chooses to pack up and move to another state, taking many of the jobs it provides.

*Disclaimer: I am unaware of any businesses named the same as those I am using. If there are any similar businesses in existence, it is purely coincidental.

If you want, I can bring up acts of Christian terrorism. Anti-abortion violence is a good place to start.

I'm still waiting on intelligent answers rather than xenophobic rhetoric.

On 744 the problem is simple. If we give the schools a hundred-million-billion- trillion dollars they will be back next week wanting more. They need to learn fiscal responsibility not spend, spend, spend. they need to consolidate school districts, cut non-teaching administrative jobs.
something like 65 cents of every tax dollar plus the lottery money plus federal money goes to education. enough is enough.
If your a teacher and you got in it for the money- move to another state.

I've read all of the Sharia laws discussion back and forth.

What this state doesn't want is the Sharia law to be in this state.
It has been previously posted and confirmed that some judges have already considered this in their judgments in the US.
Again, look at Europe, which our current administration wants to emulate.

Germany, GB etc are rebelling against the Sharia law. They let it go on too long.

Here is what Oklahoma wants.
We want law as the CONSTITUTION provides.
Period!:scream:

I agree with your post. However this question could be better written to diffuse some of the unintended consequences. I would suggest bringing this up again with better wording to the effect of: judges cannot implement religious law in their rulings that is in opposition to OK, Federal, etc. law. After all, that's what everyone is so worried about. If the author hadn't thrown the word "Sharia" in there, I don't think anyone would have paid much attention to this. It's such a polarizing term that many people stop listening once they hear that word. Unfortunately, it will keep some from considering the commerical business impact (which is likely to feel the greatest hit considering we don't have any cases in the pipeline requesting application of "Sharia Law").
